The horn is a brass instrument. There are horns in F, and horns in Bb. Horns in F and Bb are called a compensating horn. Compensating horns are the most common. The attached presentation, credited to my classmates and found below, details other types of horns, the history of the horn, as well as some fundamentals. The fingering chart to the upper right shows the finger positions for a compensating horn. A "T" before a valve combination indicates the valve trigger be pressed along with the valves marked.
